· Sandy Grassmuck was first elected Alderman in April 2022 and currently serves as the Ward 1 representative for the City of Lake St. Louis.

Apartment & Development Facts
· The last apartment complex approved in Lake St. Louis was in March 2022, The Sullivan (Southest of the Meadows) — prior to Sandy taking office.
· Since taking office in April 2022, Sandy has not voted to approve a traditional apartment complex development.
Montage at Hawk Ridge – Clarification
· Montage at Hawk Ridge was approved by Planning & Zoning and the Board of Aldermen in later in 2022.
· This community is not a traditional apartment complex, but a lifestyle community offering both homes for purchase and homes for lease.
· It is designed around community living and amenities, including:
o Clubhouse with fitness center
o Resort-style pool
o Pickleball courts
o Walking trails and green space
o Dog park and outdoor gathering areas
· This concept has been successfully implemented in multiple markets across the country.

Responsible Growth & City Planning
· During Sandy’s term, the Board of Aldermen voted to implement a 6-month moratorium on apartment developments.
· This pause allowed time to review and strengthen city code, ensuring future development aligns with the community’s vision and standards.
Conflict of Interest Transparency
· On two occasions, Sandy proactively identified potential conflicts of interest and immediately brought them forward.
· In both cases, the City Administrator and City Attorney reviewed the situations and determined no conflict existed.
· One project was approved; one was not — demonstrating independent, case-by-case decision-making.
Real Estate & Apartment Myth – Setting the Record Straight
· Realtors do NOT benefit from apartment developments.
· In fact, apartments often reduce homeownership opportunities, which is the core of a Realtor’s business.
· Claims suggesting otherwise are false and misleading.
