Responsible Growth & City Planning

· During Sandy’s term, the Board of Aldermen voted to implement a 6-month moratorium on apartment developments.

· This pause allowed time to review and strengthen city code, ensuring future development aligns with the community’s vision and standards.

Conflict of Interest Transparency

· On two occasions, Sandy proactively identified potential conflicts of interest and immediately brought them forward.

· In both cases, the City Administrator and City Attorney reviewed the situations and determined no conflict existed.

· One project was approved; one was not — demonstrating independent, case-by-case decision-making.

Real Estate & Apartment Myth – Setting the Record Straight

· Realtors do NOT benefit from apartment developments.

· In fact, apartments often reduce homeownership opportunities, which is the core of a Realtor’s business.

· Claims suggesting otherwise are false and misleading.

Decision-Making & Leadership

· Every vote is made based on:

o Available facts and data

o Community input (both for and against)

o Long-term impact on the city

· Sandy receives strong opinions on both sides of every issue and takes that responsibility seriously.

· Leadership means making informed decisions — even when not everyone agrees.

· Her focus remains on:

o Smart, responsible growth

o Protecting property values

o Enhancing parks, trails, and community spaces

Facts matter. Leadership matters. And making decisions for the good of the entire community will always come before politics.
